Factory Furniture were asked to create two feature seats for the iconic Tower 42, Bishopsgate. We were pleased to accept the challenge of making HED’s ambitious seating concept a reality. Each seat reached over 3m in height and required a design that could cope with the changing levels of the site and the curving wall onto which they sat. The sweeping FSC timber seat slats and armrests were carried by a modular steel frame. The seats were broken into sections that were assembled in the workshop before being transported to site ready for installation. Each seat was fitted with integrated top-down lighting which dramatically illuminates them during night-time hours.
